Terms & Conditions

1. Independent Contractor Status

You are engaged by Welvox Travel as an independent contractor, not an employee. You are responsible for your own income tax remittances, CPP contributions, and GST/HST registration if applicable. Welvox Travel will issue a T4A for all earnings paid during each calendar year.

2. Pay Rates & Payout Terms

Compensation is calculated per trip based on your assigned vehicle tier:

Trip duration and distance are set by Welvox Travel at the time of booking. Payouts are processed every Friday by direct deposit for all trips completed and confirmed in the portal by Thursday at midnight. Welvox Travel reserves the right to adjust rates with 14 days' written notice.

3. Vehicle Requirements

Your vehicle must meet the following standards at all times while active on the platform:

  • Valid BC registration and current ICBC insurance including Business Use coverage
  • Passed CVIP inspection within the last 12 months
  • Clean, well-maintained interior and exterior — no visible damage, stains, or odours
  • Comfort tier: any clean, well-maintained vehicle with 4 or more passenger seats — including sedans (e.g. Toyota Camry, Honda Accord), mid-size SUVs (e.g. RAV4, CR-V, Tucson), and minivans or large SUVs (e.g. Sienna, Palisade, Highlander)
  • Premium tier: luxury SUV or full-size sedan (e.g. Range Rover, Mercedes GLS, Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator)
  • Model year 2016 or newer — vehicles no more than 10 years old

Welvox Travel may request updated vehicle photos or a re-inspection at any time. Failure to maintain vehicle standards may result in temporary suspension or deactivation.

4. Driver Conduct & Standards

As a Welvox Travel driver you agree to:

  • Arrive at the pickup location at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time
  • Dress in clean, smart-casual or professional attire for every trip
  • Maintain a courteous, professional, and helpful demeanour with all guests at all times
  • Follow all BC traffic laws, speed limits, and safe driving practices
  • Refrain from using a mobile device while driving except via hands-free
  • Keep the vehicle smoke-free and alcohol-free at all times
  • Not share trip details, guest information, or itineraries with third parties
  • Immediately notify Welvox Travel of any incidents, accidents, or guest complaints

5. Community Guidelines

Welvox Travel is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful experience for all guests regardless of nationality, language, age, gender, religion, or ability. As a driver you agree to:

  • Treat every guest with equal respect and professionalism
  • Not engage in discriminatory, harassing, or offensive conduct of any kind
  • Accommodate reasonable accessibility needs where possible and notify Welvox of any limitations
  • Not solicit tips, personal contact information, or future bookings directly from guests
  • Report any guest misconduct or safety concerns to Welvox Travel immediately after the trip

Violations of community guidelines may result in immediate deactivation without appeal.

6. Termination & Deactivation

Either party may end this contractor relationship at any time with 7 days' written notice. Welvox Travel may deactivate your account immediately and without notice in cases of:

  • Serious misconduct, harassment, or safety violations
  • Fraudulent activity or misrepresentation on this application
  • A driver rating falling below 4.0 stars and remaining below that threshold after a written improvement period
  • Failure to maintain valid required documents (licence, insurance, inspection)
  • Three or more no-shows or last-minute cancellations within any 60-day period

Upon deactivation, any outstanding earnings for completed and confirmed trips will be paid on the next scheduled payout date.

7. Privacy & Data

By submitting this application you consent to Welvox Travel collecting, storing, and processing the personal information and documents provided. This information is used solely to verify your eligibility, manage your contractor relationship, and comply with applicable law. We will never sell your personal data to third parties. Documents are stored securely and retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by CRA regulations. You may request access to or deletion of your data by contacting info@welvox.ca, subject to legal retention obligations.

8. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
